STORY

Our story starts with Swiss excellence meeting French know-how as we strive to provide honest and unbiased sustainable clothing, produced by talented French artisans. That is why we ensure extreme rigour in the sourcing process, selecting only the finest ecological, local and traceable materials in order to be radically sustainable.

Natural fibers, wooden buttons, organic fabrics and ecological dyes, we work only with beautiful materials selected according to one principle: to minimize their ecological footprint. Therefore, emphasis has been put on the search for fibers that consume as little natural resources as possible, the least pollution and come from forests that are sustainably managed for fighting against massive deforestation.

Tencel, linen and hemp are the basis of the collections, with sober and contemporary design and where each detail has been carefully crafted. And because you are as precious to us as Mother Nature, we source the healthiest fabrics to take care of your skin, while celebrating your femininity in timeless, well cut and refined pieces.

In Sanskrit, AVANI means the “Earth” and is a reflection of our commitment to look after the earth in all we do.

SUSTAINABILITY

Ethical fashion takes a more balanced approach to the environment and put the emphasis on human rights, social responsability and ethical practices. While eco-fashion focuses on the environment and the use of raw materials, products and practices that preserve our planet, not keeping the "human" factor in mind. Sustainable fashion encompasses both and this is what we stand for. We have rethought the codes of sourcing and production around a 360° vision of ecology, in order to offer the luxury of 100% natural, low-impact, cotton-free and unbiaised clothing, produced ethically and locally. The sustainable dimension is at the center of every step in the sourcing and production process in order to minimize our ecological footprint throughout the value chain. How? With full transparency and traceability (certificates, minimizing intermediaries, local as possible, partnering with suppliers who share the same values, etc).

THE FOUNDER

Delphine grew up in Geneva and pursued her university studies at HEC Lausanne for 5 years. Freshly graduated in 2015, she began her career in consulting for SMEs and start-ups before turning to digital marketing. Through her work, she quickly realized that she was missing a string to her bow: a genuine environmental and social impact.

Immersed in the textile world from a very young age thanks to her grandparents, a spinning world leader in Alsace and another one highly involved in Parisian fashion, it is the Rana Plaza disaster that made her aware of what truly lies behind the fashion industry. From then on, AVANI started to bloom in her head.

It was in March 2017, after a serious ski accident which immobilized her for 8 months, that Delphine decided to embark on her ambitious project. Between her resolute desire for creation and her desire to make things happen, she officially launched AVANI at the end of May 2018, a committed and feminine fashion brand striving for a sustainable future.
